Founded in 1983 by principle Neal Cox. With 30 years of experience in the residential home plan design and building field, he has worked with many award winning builders in the North Dallas area. Plans By Design works with builder and individual clients to produce house plans that are efficient, accurate and with elevations that are appealing to the eye of the discriminating person. Our experience has included home plans for tract home builders, empty nester homes, lake and retirement homes and everything up to the large custom, one of a kind home plans. As you pass through the neighborhoods of Dallas, Richardson, Plano, and nearby communities, you can see the distinctive style of house plans  created by Plans By Design. In some of the communities, we have designed all or the majority of the homes built.

We have been members of the Home and Apartment Builders Association since 1984. This has helped us stay abreast with issues and ideas that affect the design and construction of homes. Construction methods change as new materials and products come on the market. We implement these in our designs to keep up with current demands.

Neal has also built many homes with some of the most successful builders in the Dallas area and for individual clients who want a unique design. Our understanding of construction methods contributes to designs that are efficient and eliminate many of the problems that develop during the building process.

Since 1988, we have been producing plans using Computer Aided Drafting techniques. The software that we use is DataCad. We have customized our CAD system to produce drawings that have a hand drawn look and are accurate, clear and easy to read.
